Why do I paint abstract?

I chose abstraction naturally as soon as I began painting. Duplicating something that already exist to the last detail would have been to boring for me. I'm too impatient and if I painted that way all my paintings would never be finished and end up in the trash. LOL. I do truly admire the patience and skill realist painters have but it just isn't for me. I love the feeling of inventing something new and letting it out into the world.  Abstract art is fun, liberating, keeps the brain active and keeps one balanced. It's a rush I can't live without!
